In 2021, Chris Clemons is considered the Shortest basketball player. He is a backcourt player and has been successful as a point guard for the Houston Rockets for quite some time. Born in 1997, the basketball player started his career in college basketball with the Campbell Fighting Camles. He has not been on the Rockets’ squad since 2021.
With his 1.75 meters, he is currently the smallest NBA player, but that hasn’t stopped him from being a great basketball player. However, he is not the only one who had a career in the NBA with a below average height.
The second smallest player in the NBA is currently considered to be J. J. Barea, who can be found on the Dallas Mavericks squad. He is 1.78 meters tall, outstripping Clemons by three centimeters. In 2011, he even achieved a championship title. The Puerto Rican player shares second place as the smallest NBA player actively on the court with fellow NBA players Tremont Waters, who is under contract with the Boston Celtics, and Jared Harper of the New York Knicks. Both of them have a two-way contract in their teams.

Considered the Shortest NBA player of all time is Muggsy Bogues, who is 1.60 meters tall, not only for basketball, but in general below average.
He played for 14 seasons in the NBA as, point guard with the Charlotte Hornets he was able to achieve his greatest successes. Prior to that, he played for the Washington Bullets, among others. Interestingly, in his career as the smallest NBA player of all time, Bogus also played alongside Manute Bol, who at 2.31 meters is considered the tallest NBA player in history.
He was the head coach of the Charlotte Sting until the team was disbanded in 2007. Since then, he has worked for the Charlotte Hornets as a team ambassador and radio announcer.
